The Short Version

Scope

These Terms of Use govern the use of the Untagged application ("the app") for iOS, provided by Alexander Stöhr under the brand honestapps ("the provider", "I"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

License

The app is provided as a non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal use.

What the App Does

Untagged processes photos that you explicitly select and removes common metadata such as GPS coordinates, device information and timestamps. Cleaned versions are stored locally within the app. The original photos are not modified.

All processing happens locally on your device. No data is transmitted to any external server.

Availability

The app is provided on an "as is" basis. I cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Features may change over time.

Verify Before Sharing

Different formats may contain different types of metadata. The provider does not guarantee that all metadata is removed in every case.

You remain solely responsible for verifying that no sensitive information is contained in a file before sharing it. Use in privacy-critical situations is at your own risk.

Your Data and Backups

All data is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of important images.

If you remove the app, all data stored within the app will be deleted.

No Business-Critical Use

The app is not intended for use in safety-critical or legally sensitive scenarios. Any such use is outside the intended scope of the app.

Liability

The provider is liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, and damages to life, body or health.

For simple negligence, liability is limited to essential contractual obligations and foreseeable damages.

The provider is not liable for damages resulting from remaining metadata or incorrect assumptions about data removal.

Any further liability is excluded. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

In-App Purchases

The app may offer optional tips or purchases. All transactions are processed exclusively by Apple under their own terms and policies.

Refunds and payment handling are managed solely by Apple. The provider does not receive personal or financial data from these transactions.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the app.

Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions remain unaffected.
